Do Aphrodisiacs and Pheromones Exist and Can They Help Us Stay Young? by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging review

The subject has many detractors and supporters who contantly disagree on the basics of what causes people to feel affection for one abother. I’ve also touched on the contributing factors for anti-aging beauty that romance, passion and intimacy have and they too are real. I’ve also read all of the comments and can tell you unequivocally that there is no myth to aphrodisiac’s. They are very real indeed.

My own research into the matter began in 2002, when I met with a doctor name Peter Pugliese. He is an older gentleman who has spent the better part of his 80 plus years investigating and researching skin care and the various ingredients to resolve some of the common issues with aging skin such as wrinkles, uneven skin tone, poor skin tenacity, inflamed skin (rosacea) and the like. In his studies, he claimed to have discovered pheromones before the Athena Institute doctor (not a “real” doctor) Winnifred Cutler, who now claims to be the co-discoverer and shows her 30 year old picture on her website. He claims that she is still using the same product he sold her over 30 years ago.

Now whether this is true or not is hard to determine, but what can be easily tested are the pheromones in the solution that are available at Master & Mistress brand pheromone products.

Like many commenters on various threads, those individuals that are highly skeptical, suffering from depression, ADHD or other mood shifting and affecting disorder, will not feel much of an affect. Those who are also simply angry, have a poor disposition or otherwise are just plain unhappy, likewise will not benefit from pheromones. The reason is similar to the control group in any clinical test and the placebo percentage is set up specifically for that reason. up to 25-30% of clinical participants will have a reaction (in the positive) to any drug simply because of what they believe and that is a high hurdle for drugs to overcome when tested, despite having endpoints that are to meet or exceed current therapies on the market for an indication, be it a cancer or other disease state.

Now you see, I’m starting to get technical, because the question demands it. While I tend to like to keep conversations about romance, passion and intimacy light, yet informative, this group warrants the science behind the desire to debunk anything related to aphrodisiacs. So how many tests have been done?

The Monell Institute in PA has been involved in a direct or peripheral way for over three decades on this and related matters and it isn’t the only reputable one. The researchers have become go to men and some women (that’s the shame of it, since men don’t get the whole romance, passion and intimacy thing for the most part and we need more women in the smell and taste field) for the media in the United States and other countries eager to cover this topic. Needless to say, most have been highly reluctant to stake their jobs on the issue and constantly say more research is needed. Really?

There are hundreds of studies and white papers around the world that support the evidence that pheromones, food, herbs and the olfactory system do indeed affect how we as humans relate when introduced to certain external factors. The most powerful and least researched, of course, being that of scent.

One specific area that we find is still under dispute, is whether the organ that is primarily responsible for the heated activity of primates and other lower mammals before and during mating, the vomeronasal organ (VNO), is considered to be latent in humans by some, non-existent or active and important by others.

Regardless of if there is a VNO (and Dr. Pugliese for one is convinced it is active and relevant to any discussion on pheromones in humans) or whether anti-aging beauty can be affetcted or not, we do know that the sense of smell directly affects the limbic brain, that oldest part of the brain that is responsible for the fight or flight aspect of humans. It is also directly responsible for our feelings of lust, affection and is reactive to scent because we as humans do not process the information we receive from scent with the same preconceptions and screening with knowledge and attitudes, that we do when seeing, touching, hearing or tasting something. There is no adult telling us what’s good or bad. No sensor telling us no, we can’t watch that show. We simply feel. Emotions are elicited. We smell toast and it brings us back to our grandmothers kitchen on a summer vacation in the country. We catch the scent of burnt caramel and are almost brought to tears because the last time we smelled that, was the last time we saw our father alive. Or simply, the scent of tuberose and sandalwood enters our nose and our adrenaline starts to rise, our testosterone is pumping and the love hormones in our head start to ricochet because our lover from Greece on the last night of our European vacation had the same smell when he might have kissed us for the last time before we returned to the United States. The smell of sea water lapping up against the warm white sand of a Naxos beach playing over  in our head while the late summer sun faded into a brilliant orange and red tapestry. Can feel do that? I would strongly suggest not ever!

You see, we know that the sense of smell is so powerful, which is why the fragrance industry has so guarded it’s secrets of emotional attraction. Pheromones have been around the human lab for over 50 years, or as long as the moth pheromone connection was made, but humans have a notoriously poor sense of smell versus our nearest cousins in the animal kingdom. That is the most curious and interesting of developments to have touched on pheromones in recent years.

There is no disputing the ability for body language to affect the way someone sees a potential partner or mate. We know that the eyes, ears and sense of touch all process the information received to suit the specific individual, yet, someone who knows how to stand just right, catch the eye of an unsuspecting man or women and saunter just slowly enough to cause the target individual to let their guard down, or their computer that is processing the information and is set-up most times to turn the suitor away, well, they are disarmed and that is the power of pheromones for the wearer and the disadvantage when the wearer comes close enough for the target to take in the top notes that they may like (remember the sandalwood). If they, the target don’t like the top-note, then no matter how smooth the suitor, it’s unlikely a union will be made this or any other night. However, if the scent is liked, watch out because things will heat up indeed.

The overwhelming evidence is that pheromones, herbs, foods or other supposed aphrodisiacs need to work in concert with scent in order to “work”. Yes, yohimbe does work, so too do many other herbs and plants, but the substantial marketing of so many items that don’t work, like **** Goat Weed plant, rhino horn, etc… dilutes the message of the naturopath or medicinal healer. The subject also tends to gather poo-poos from the medical community because they don’t feel love and sex are two subjects worth talking about when they, the Western medical community are busy dealing with so much more important things, like say, eczema… Enough said about the misconceptions and lack of understanding about aphrodisiacs.

We have also touched on another topic in this discussion which cannot be ignored and that is hormones. The great misconception and misunderstanding is that our sexuality and drive comes from our loins. Well those in the know understand that it comes from our head. The pituitary gland to be more precise. This super messaging computer sends out the lutenizing hormones that trigger the production of testosterone in men, other messages go out to spur on dopamine, that feel good drug related hormone that so messes with us. Don’t forget seratonin, oxytocin or adrenaline, which we need for stamina and the raw energy to complete the arduous task of love making. Don’t let anyone fool you, it does take stamina, energy and drive to get any amount of love-making tucked away in the memory book.

Hormones are essential to any aphrodisiac quotient and if the sense of smell is rocked by ylang-ylang, or vanilla or amber (all traditional aphrodisiacs), then so be it. Who can say it isn’t those scents if the individual is indeed effected? I contend that any expert would be hard pressed to say that an individuals pulse that starts to race, the sweat beading up on their brow and the tingling in their body are not real. Could they be fabricated by that individual? Yes, they most certainly can and are and that is the beauty of aphrodisiacs! If they work for someone, whether through a placebo affect (which is moot since a real reaction is no more placebo that a hammer to your toe) or through a chemical reaction in your brain. That chemical reaction, whether elicited by a dream or another chemical is real. It’s real because our hormones tell us they are. Because our brains master gland says we like the smell of that person and want them to come close to us and if we like that persons unique ****tail of scent, then all bets are off. eharmony.com be ****ed!

Chocolate, shrimp, avocado and other foods can also be linked to feelings of passion and there are many good reasons why. Now, we move away from that ancient of senses to the good ‘ol digestive tract that is so important to our overall health and performance. As you may know, our bodies can tell when we are lacking in certain nutrients. if we are dehydrated, we get thirsty. If we lack potassium, we crave a banana. If we feel sluggish, we grab the first bit of protein we can manage and this is also true for our libido. We can’t expect to have longevity in life or in love if we have low levels of healthy fatty acids and protein in our bodies, not to mention long lasting complex carbohydrates and that is what you find in the three food items I mentioned and many more foods that support healthy blood flow, maintenance and building of soft tissues and overall brain function (that is the fatty acid part folks. Since if you don’t have enough healthy fats in your diet, you aren’t likely going to have much love either.

Needless to say, I can go on and on about the subject of aphrodisiacs, but suffice it to say, it is a complex topic that is real and interlinked with many important elements of our daily lives that includes what we eat, what we smell and what our disposition is. if you can take away one aspect from this discussion, I would suggest that you focus on the powerful and unforgiving sense of smell. This is not to say it is the most important, just that it is the most immediate and reactive. Simply think of your current partner or a past partner. What do you think of when trying to think of intimacy with them (positive that is). I would hazard a guess that there smell and the desire to catch their scent comes into play at an important level. This isn’t simply the short lived top notes of the less than creative scents we’ve been inundated with by Paris Hilton and other wanna-be stars, but the classics, such as the original Joy by Jean Patou, or Channel No. 5 or your fathers cologne. Then mix in the unique scent (pheromones, that come from the bacterial reaction on the persons skin, enzymes and broken down hormones -  pheromones come from hormones folks -) and you will be able to build a strong bond with that person for some time to come.

Will the Demise of the Dead Sea Affect Anti-Aging Mud Treatments? by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging beauty products, anti-aging products, anti-aging skin care, anti-aging skincare

It has been reported that since the 1960’s, population growth and irrigation has contributed to the shrinking of the Dead Sea by over 30% of it’s former banks. The rise in tourism and skin care / wellness benefits for anti-aging beauty treatments has been a major factor as well. Now, with the quickening pace of the depletion of the healing, heavily supersaturated salinic waters, beauty experts and cosmetic chemists have been looking in different places. So what can take the place, if anything can, of Dead sea minerals and muds that have started myriad healing skin care companies?

Despite calls for another one third of the Dead Sea to disappear in 10-20 years, there is no need for a replacement for it’s anti-aging beauty and healing properties. The constituents of the Dead Sea Mud are well known and have been deciphered numerous times. The rich combination of minerals is a major factor for accelerating healing, reducing inflammation, a major culprit of skin damage along with the inert components that provide additional skin support.

So if we are to no longer have Dead Sea Mud to apply to our faces and bodies, what will take it’s place? Essentially, any low lying highly mineralized body of water from the most obscure hot spring in Bonita Springs Florida (I told you obscure), to Moor Mud that comes from the peat bogs of Canada. Those are just two of many examples of less famous, but just as beneficial products that have been available for just as long as the Dead Sea has been around.

Some, are more beneficial because of the lack of harsh levels of minerals, combined with a smoothing elemental aspect such as peat bogs provide or supposedly some of the most purified mud, coming from the receding glaciers of Alaska (yes, there are high deposits of minerals and salts in the wake of these ancient glaciers, but they fall more into the clay category.

What then sets apart, peat, from mud, from clay and any other form of dirt that might be considered a remedy for aging? Limited amounts of minerals, the density of sand, rock, pumice, etc… This uniqueness of raw material is important to each one of us who wants to consider the potential for healing our ailments or physical afflictions. This is the duty of the skin care professional and the client to determine.

As an example, if you are suffering from breakouts, acne and other eruptions, you would probably be better off with a heavy clay treatment to dry out the skin and sebum producing factories of your pores and then moisturize with a light gel or serum so as not to cause a rebound reaction.

If your face tends toward the rosacea and sensitive side, you’d want to stay away from the harsher dead Seas muds and focus instead on the benefits of calming Moor Mud that is in a variety of clinicals for psoriasis and other skin ailments and showing positive outcomes.

By now, you might understand that it is highly important to know your skin before you leap into any treatment. If you simply wanted to try to float in the Dead Sea to experience the weightlessness and slather on a little mud for good measure, great. However, the processed muds that you are getting from companies that have made a fortune on the back of the storied Sea like Ahava have not proven more effective than any of the other earth based treatments and with such a variety of products and of skin types and afflictions, why lament the loss of the Dead Sea mud when it may very well be too harsh or not efficacious for you to begin with? (Yes, the loss of the Sea is criminal if considering it’s importance in human history, but we’re just talking wellness and skin care here).

Is there Really a Difference Between Men’s and Women’s Skin-care Products? by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging beauty products, anti-aging products, anti-aging skin care, anti-aging skincare

When we shop for skin-care products, men tend to look for a quick fix, in an appealing, yet simple and manly package. Just look at the success of the Axe brand owned by Unilever. What was a conservative consumer brand giant, has become a fully integrated generational “mash-up” as many articles have recently reported.

I’ll be avoiding the inter-generational argument here, as we are focused on anti-aging beauty issues, whether male or female. The Unilever brand Dove has had quite a publicity success in it’s effort to show beauty at any age and the suggestion is that Dove is a strictly female brand and one for women in their mid to later life. So would a man do himself harm, or have no effect if using Dove? Are the ingredients in Dove, not well suited for a man?

To explore this issue, we need to put to rest some myths about male versus female skin. They are indeed made of the same material. Hyaluronic acid, capillaries, fat (of the now three varieties, including brown), follicles, nerves, collagen, fibroblasts and the like. So what sets them apart? Hormones. It is with the difference in levels of certain hormones between men and women that men tend to have thicker and more hydrated skin, especially during menses. The process of shedding and rebuilding the lining of the uterus is not one that should be considered lightly. It takes a great deal of energy and blood supply (and the rebuilding of blood supply) to complete this process and we men don’t have to deal with that at all.

Is Sexual Health the Key to Anti-aging Beauty? by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging program, anti-aging skin care treatment

By now, we’re all well aware that as we age, our hormone production drops off the face of a cliff. Our aspirations for long lasting anti-aging beauty follows the trend line of our hormones and we end our years fighting the age related diseases that the Western / pharmaceutical funded and associated entities tell us we’re all doomed to experience.

Along with a drop in muscle mass, lean body tissue, stamina, a healthy cardiovascular system and not least, our performance in bed, our minds start to wander and we are told that we must do cross-words and other mind bending puzzles to keep our minds fresh. Some recent articles have shed light on just how important our sexual activity is on staying young, feeling young and looking young. Despite the expected ravages of old age and reduced hormone production, we now know that increased sexual activity brings with it an increased production in certain feel good hormones like seratonin and dopamine, but our anti-aging beauty hormones don’t stop there.

With increased intimacy comes the bonding hormone (moreso in women) called oxytocin. With men it’s testosterone, but as we age that he-man hormone drops off along with our stamina and interest. I’ve discussed the need for resistance training and weight training to keep those levels as high as possible in other articles, but one of the best ways to keep it high, is with your partner in a non-threatening, limited pressure environment. I’m not saying that your wife, husband or partner doesn’t have expectations, but a new partner is likely to be more intimidating than one you are more familiar with, so stick with the familiar if you want to boost those skin tightening, cardiovascular supportive hormones.

As many if us know by now, the discovery of te now famous little blue pill (Viagara) was fro ma side effect of a cardiovascular trial where study members reported increased and longer lasting erections while on the test pill. Good news for the manufacturer and for those men who had trouble supporting a more active lifestyle. Key in, however, on the cardiovascular improvements here if you will. I’m not suggesting that everyone get involved in marathon sexual exploits, but clearly there is a defined benefit, both physically and emotionally to increasing your sexual activity (responsibly and safely of course!).

Having dealt with the cardiovascular system, the research minds have turned to blood levels of hormones for women in recent contraceptive pills, to relieve period flows and certain complications of painful periods. However, with decreased blood flow, comes undesirable consequences, or a lower libido in women.

So rather than artificially trying to boost those hormones, why not focus on the diet, exercise regimen and healthy mind profile that will all help boost the necessary “intimacy hormones”. The side effects from drugs and the onslaught of performance boosting naturals like yohimbe, velvet antler, ginseng and a myriad of others that often get your heart racing, but little else. Once you get into a rhythm, so to speak, you can’t help but notice that the increasing hormone secretions do have a positive effect on your psyche and physiology, which in turn improves skin color, complexion, balancing of sebum production and collagen production. All because of increased blood flow and the delivery of the necessary nutrients to all of the bodies extremities.

Many people will say, of course we know that intimacy is good for you in many ways, but anti-aging beauty? How’s that. Well, just like the need to exercise your brain to keep this most important of organs functioning properly, well than, so to does the many benefits to a healthy sexual life contribute to healthy mind, organs -skin functioning and related human systems (like the cardiovascular system). So whether by means of the age old Kama Sutra, or the more modern weekend getaway, practice improving your sexuality and you will not only notice your immediate rush of energy, mind acuity and the like, but a physical change in your appearance. Anyone recognize the pregnancy glow? Well, hormones are responsible for that too.

All the best,

Lorne

How Marketers Get Away With All Things Anti-Aging Beauty by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging beauty products, anti-aging products, natural anti-aging

As the market for anti-aging beauty products continues to defy the recession, marketers are getting even more bold, despite the efforts of the FTC and FDA to shut some of them down. The recent raids on certain weight loss companies and restrictions set on the sale of items like Hydroxycut, would suggest that companies and their spokespeople would think twice before making unsubstantiated claims and wild promises regarding skin health and rejuvenation, not to mention internal health and vitality.

My experience tells me otherwise. As a member of multiple information sources that fill my inboxes with new ingredients, products and content regarding all things anti-aging beauty, I a, bombarded almost hourly with the likes of Arbonne (skin care multi-level marketing - MLM - company), Shaklee (nutraceuticals MLM), Monavie (liquid mutrition MLM) and any number of other “get rich quick while helping others improve their health” deals.

I may sound skeptical, and I am, but the number of these companies has clogged the internet, not to metion the trade shows and consumer shows. With little to show, except expensive product and pyramid schemes, those professional companies that are part of the MLM network, like Avon, stay out of the limeloght. Others are getting caught up in the actions taken by the FDA and FTC, who would like nothing more than to poke more holes in the DSHEA law that opened up the nutraceutical worlds ability to market their products as food, but often find themselves touting the health benefits.

One such advertisement, disguised as an earnest attempt to help people, went like this;

“The worlds best Anti-Aging Tonic… Dr. David Sinclair, Harvard University REVOLUTIONARY BREAKTHROUGH… see the science proof

Just one of the ingredients in VivixTM alone has been referenced in over 2,000 research publications, including multiple studies conducted by Harvard University, the National Institutes on Aging, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

3,000 GLASSES OF RED WINE 30-day supply of VivixTM delivers that equivalent amount of just resveratrol plus

Muscadine Grape extract (Vitis rotundifolia) (fruit pomace), trans-Resveratrol (Polygonumcuspidatum) (root) standardized to a minimum of 98% purity, European Elderberry extract (Sambucus nigra) (fruit), and Purple Carrot extract (Daucus carota sativus) (root)

To Feel 25 years YOUNGER and Live 25 years LONGER”

Wow! Look at the bolded and capitalized letters! Look at the use of one of the doctors and researchers who is working on determining if resveretrol can indeed role the clock back on aging (his company was bought for $750 million, so he has a real lab and cash as oppposed to the fellow who wrote this).

It’s difficult at once, to either take this seriously, or to turn away from it, but the old adage is still quite true; “if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is”. In this case, no conclusive evidence has been established to prove that resveretrol can indeed roll back the years. More importantly, some research has shown that excessive amounts of antioxidents can be harmful as well, overcoming the free radicals and attacking the power houses of our cells.

We should rather consider that our bodies know what to do in order to protect us and as long as we eat right, excercise and take care of our minds, then we will be well along with our immune systems and repair mechanisms. Plenty of recent research has come out against even the use of vitamins and their ineffectiveness. Unlike either side of the discussion, I am always for supplementing if you don’t eat your vegetables and fruits and take in too much red meat and not eanough fish. I also find that I keep coming back to the diet that one eats and how that is paramount to the health of the individual. So rather than thinking a $30 bottle of Acai juice will solve all your health problems, keep focused on the long term solution, no matter how distasteful. You’ll be happier and wealthier that you did.

Helix Biomedix Inroduces New Peptide Based Skin Care Line by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging beauty products, anti-aging products, anti-aging skin care, anti-aging skincare

Peptides, enzymes, exfoliation and other ingredients, actives or methods of making your skin look younger, are being touted as anti-aging beauty miracles everyday. The truth is very different about what actually works and doesn’t in skin care products. That’s why most cosmetic products skirt the FDA and don’t get into the skin, which is a barrier in any case. The great majority of skin care (anti-wrinkle, refining, plumping, etc…) are simply humectants and surfactants locking in the skin or drawing moisture to the skin for the appearance of healthier skin.

In the case of Helix Biomedix, I happened to work with them over six years ago and have met with their chief science officer a number of times, doing studies with dermatologists that I employed. I am familiar with their massive peptide library which they have selectively licensed to companies like NuSkin and other big consumer products companies. I know, personally, that some of their peptides have substantial activity levels for spurring on the production of collagen and other skin supporting elements. The key in any formulation is that they must be in enough quantity and in the right delivery vehicle to work. I don’t know which peptide they are using, but I’m happy to hear that they are pushing forward their own development, although they likely know little about actually packaging and marketing a skin care line.

Similar to when Skin Medica bought the rights to Advanced Tissue Sciences technology, creating a line and growing it slowly before being buying it out. I’m sure that is what Helix is up to. They are an over the counter public company too, so they are likely trying anything, right or wrong, to boost their stock. That may be a shame as the science in the company is exceptional and they may be ignored because they are trying to “do it themselves”. After all, it takes many years and money to sell an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) to the leading consumer products companies like P&G, J&J, L’Oreal, Revlon, etc… and that has taken it’s toll on numerous companies. Not to mention the habit of these behemoths to, shall we say, come into ownership of the technology/ingredients they might be evaluating, through other means, circumventing their erstwhile raw material suppliers.

The key here is that the management is honest, hard (very hard) working and they are truly committed and devoted to their technology and work. No, they haven’t done any double blind placebo controlled studies that are commensurate with biotech designed and accepted protocols, but frankly, neither has L’Oreal, Estee Lauder or others in the industry. Those that have would include Allergan which is a lone standout flying on the success of Botox, which has allowed them to buy up technology and companies, now being fingered as a buyout themselves.

What Does Anti-aging Beauty Taste Like? by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging

Do you remember the advertisements about forced cod liver oil supplements? With the substantial research behind the benefits of fish oils, there seems plenty of evidence that this difficult to swallow supplement was truly beneficial, but how did we get it down? Was anti-aging beauty worth that vile taste?

Spring Anti-aging Beauty Sins by Lorne Caplan

Posted by: admin  :  Category: anti-aging, anti-aging guide, anti-aging program, anti-aging skin care, anti-aging skincare

We often hear about the items we should carry in our bags and purses to prevent photo aging of skin during the summer months along with a variety of other Summer activities and habits that we must conquer to forge ahead with our anti-aging beauty efforts. What then, about the spring?

As a truly transitional season, we are converted from hibernating humans (at least those of us in the North and Northeast), to individuals willing to brave the wind, humidity and chill of the spring, not to mention the allergy season that is right about now in full bloom.

The previous paragraph touches on a multitude of issues that we have to deal with in order to maintain and even assist our anti-aging beauty benefits. Inflammation is one that jumps to mind as our nasal passages, eyes and throats start to close-up from seasonal allergies. As somewhat of a non-believer in allergies as a whole, choosing to believe that compromised immune systems lend a greater hand to the scratchy/ticklish throats, runny noses, water and itchy eyes, I would recommend changing your diet and exercise indoors with weight bearing exercises as a start. Your immune boosting efforts will also minimize the puffiness of your eyes, blotchiness of your skin and the ensuing breakouts that follow from the humid rain drenched air.

Nothing is simple in this transitional season. While the dry air of Winter can be harsh on skin, it generally doesn’t help spur on the bacteria that aggravates clogged pores, spurring on sebum production and the inflammation that we already talked about. Yes, you can blame the seasons for these side effects of the pretty flowers and blooming greens that cover most lawns in the spring.

Pay special attention to the humidity. Whether in the Northeast, or Southeast, you’ll have to change your daily beauty regimen and consider lighter emollients in your evening anti-aging creams and lotions and perhaps use serums and gels that won’t clog pores or be too heavy for your spring/summer skin.

Keep in mind, that the antihistamines that you will use to suppress the side effects of an aggressive group of allergens, also plays havoc with your skin and organs (especially your brain. That’s why you can now buy so many non-drowsy formulas for Zyrtec, Claritin and other OTC’s). Some puffiness, redness and inflammation may occur in spite of the drugs your system is ingesting. As a naturopath, I’m a strong believer in dealing with the allergies at the source. Your immune system and few herbs are better in my experience than Neti Pots, Quercetin (apples, apples, apples), Omega 3’s especially in flax seeds and fishes, stinging nettle, butterbur and one all around immune booster being astragalus.

It does take a little more effort during these periods of change and since the environment doesn’t switch that quickly, we often have to endure a period of starts and stops. Indeed, skin tends to be more sensitive for some in spring-time because of the increased allergens, humidity and other conditions preparing for the summer heat and humidity. This is a great time to prepare for the summer, beyond the dermatologists thumping on the desk about sun-screen and wide brimmed hats. it’s OK to go outside. Soak up the sun in the renewing springtime, with rich scents that you should enjoy. Following some of the simple advise in this article, will help you enjoy it, instead of staying indoors and extending your banishment during the winter months.

The Anti-aging Beauty Pandemic: Baby Boomers Swine Flu by Lorne Caplan

The legitimate or irrational hysteria about a new strain of the influenza virus draws a nice parallel to the search for anti-aging beauty. Certainly, the search for a fountain of youth is nothing new, but the objective of discovering the newest and most effective anti-aging beauty ingredient to promote, has indeed become a worldwide hysteria for those devotees of the topical miracle solution to any number of age related skin conditions.
